Not much happening recently, same old day to day. Working and occasionally eating Ramen and Sukiya (Wiki link here). Sukiya is kind of like Japan’s McDonalds, as far as number of restaurants go anyway. Food is totally different than most of anything in America, but still extremely simple. Basically it’s like a KFC bowl but with “asian” ingredients, one of the most delicious things I’ve eaten.

Figured I would upload a song along with this boring update.

Well.

It’s been quite awhile.

I’ve been neglecting this thing for a long time, and HOPEFULLY I can knock that off. I’ve put updating this thing under the banter of “I don’t have enough time/I have better things to do/I’m too tired right now/I’m spending my time with my new GF/I’m a lazy piece of shit and make excuses for everything”.

Anyway. Japan has treated me good so far. I’ve been stupid more than usual since coming here, and I haven’t seen anything happen from it. The Japanese are a very secluded people, and don’t really go out of their way to help/harm really anyone. It seems as though most are willing to help if you ask, as long as its something easy, or at least not dangerous. On the other side, this means that you don’t have people getting all “butt hurt” about everything. Anyone is free to do pretty much whatever they want (as long as its not illegal), and no one is gonna bother you about it. What do you want to do? Religious stuff? Drink in public? Smoke wherever you want? Wear a shirt that says “FUCK DAMN SHITTY DICKS VAGINA GOD BALLS”? Go ahead, no one is gonna say anything to you.

It’s been my opinion for a long time that sensitivity and people being large-mouth vaginas about everything is whats going wrong with the states, and being here is only making me realize that I’m right.

Back to things. Festivals here are great, maybe not America great because god damn do I love Funnel Cake and giant turkey legs, but they have a great feeling to them. Crazy food, creative sweets, and giant anime robots crafted into floats are a few of the things you get. Everyone has a great time…. EVERYONE.

Hanging out with locals is obviously one of the most fun things. They are usually down to do whatever, and especially excited if you want to go sing Karaoke (most of them anyway). I never really thought about singing in public, or really singing anywhere besides in the shower/car when I’m all alone, but Karaoke is really a very great time, even if you’re no good at it.

Snowboarding is some of the best I have ever seen, the mountains are tall and the snow in northern Japan is fucking ridiculous. Stick to the beginners mountains if you: 1. Like to see where your going.  2. Want to practice.  3. Don’t want to fall 34239746 miles (not a real number) down a mountain do your death if you make one mistake. I like when it gets kind of dangerous and really challenges you so I go for the big ones, which may get me killed one day ha.

The food is different, and most of the time delicious. I’ll pretty much stick anything into my mouth and eat it (haha good joke faggot) and some of the stuff here just creeps me out looking at it, and sometimes tasting it isn’t any better. Convenient Store food here is some of the best I’ve ever had. They microwave it for you and it’s actually very good, plus it’s not terrible for you. They also have food that they cook daily.

I’m making this a blanket post, so I won’t really go into much more depth than that or I’ll get scoliosis from sitting in this computer chair. Like I said, hopefully I can actually update this thing like I (kind of) want to. Even if it’s just a picture here and there.

Keep in touch.

First things first.

More and more people seem to be leaving the United States these days in an attempt to experience other, more interesting cultures. I see and read remnants of trips taken by people I meet, and they always seem to be doing the same things.

“Sight seeing” as it were, seems to be the major attraction for any foreigner no matter where they go. This is, in my opinion, a giant waste of otherwise meaningful time. You can see all the “tourist attractions” that people are vying over on the internet, in postcards, or just by waiting until your friends/relatives eventually visit the same place, and take millions of pictures of objects that have no means of being truly satisfying. It seems there’s usually a general problem that causes this. Where other cultures seem to be able to fit in, and relax when they visit the USA; it seems as though most Americans are still too timid and afraid of trying new things, or putting their trust in a stranger to guide them in the right direction. I’ll be taking as many risks as I can to have a good time, so long as they aren’t potentially life threatening.
